On Coloradopols, the comments seem to show that the folks on the red side like Schaffer. Maybe they regret kicking him to the curb for Coors in 2004.
Schaffer was certainly a fearsome candidate in '04, smart and polished. By my estimation, he was easily 10 times as smart as Coors. Perhaps the Repubs are regretting not sending someone into the general election that year who really could have given Salazar (or Miles) a run for his money. Apparently however, some of Schaffer's actions on the State Board of Education have some people floating the term "loose cannon" around the blogs. If there's any truth to such rumors, that could come back to bite him for sure.
