NRC Broadcasting tries to censor Bill Winter
The Bill Winter campaign "reacted with disbelief" today to NRC Broadcasting's plan to pull the radio spot "Dateline: South Carolina." (I previously wrote about the spot here and here.) The press release continues:
When campaign manager Berrick Abramson spoke with the General Sales Manager at NRC, the campaign was told that "the CEO heard the spot and wants it off the air," according to Abramson. When Abramson was asked if there were any claims or assertions that anything in the ad was false, Abramson was told, "No, the CEO just doesn't like it..."
The Winter campaign provided documentation showing that in 2006 the CEO of NRC Broadcasting donated $2,000 to Winter's opponent, Tom Tancredo. He's also thrown money at Marilyn Musgrave, Doug Lamborn, Scott Tipton and Rick O'Donnell.
The facts behind the spot are on the Winter website. Investigative reporting about Tancredo can be found on Colorado Confidential. And the number you call to acquaint NRC Broadcasting with the First Amendment is 303-296-7025.
