Election evening post: Sound and fury

Around 2 p.m., I answered the Denver Election Commission's call for emergency election judges. I was assigned to the Tattered Cover, where voters currently have to wait in line for two hours. Unfortunately, my presence didn't do anything to solve the real problems: few computers and slow network connections.

Flabbergastingly, Republican secretary of state Gigi Dennis insists there's no need to extend voting hours. Mayor Hickenlooper has called the situation an "outrage" and asked voters to go to Fair Vote Colorado to look for polling places with shorter wait times.
