Rocky joins Post in endorsing Rice
The Rocky's endorsements are "absurdly one-sided." But the paper couldn't deny that Democratic nominee Lt. Col. Joe Rice should be the choice in HD38:
Democrat Joe Rice - a veteran of the war in Iraq - is the best choice for this open seat vacated by Republican Joe Stengel. A former mayor of Glendale, he has experience corralling fractious groups into successful coalitions, a skill likely to serve him well in the legislature.

Big surprise the Rocky is acting like the Post; they are owned by the same (Republican controlled!) company. Because there is a real chance that Democrats may win key races, they are under intense pressure from the Republican party to step up their support for Republican candidates. The Democrats have fielded many candidates that will better represent the needs of the folks in their districts. An example is HD 43, which covers Highlands Ranch. The Rocky/Post has endorsed Frank McNulty who has done nothing for Highlands Ranch while Allen Dreher (www.AllenDreher.com) has represented the people of Highlands Ranch on the Metro District Board for 6 years; who is better prepared to represent the needs of the people of Highlands Ranch at the state level. The water issue is a spurious at best, while water may be an issue in Douglas County outside of Highlands Ranch, Highlands Ranch is well served by the Centennial Water District.
