Perlmutter calls out O'Donnell on Beauprez
Democratic CD7 nominee Ed Perlmutter has a point:
"We need to clean up Congress and campaigns and I think it can start right here in the 7th Congressional District, where Rep. Beauprez is the sitting Congressman. Rep. Bob Beauprez is Rick O'Donnell's campaign chairman and top advisor and as such, I call on Rick O'Donnell to hold his chairman accountable for his actions and demand that Rep. Beauprez disclose the source that provided him illegal information..."
Is there anyone in Washington DC who O'Donnell isn't buddies with?

We should then hold Perlmutter accountable for his acceptance of Ken Salazar's endorsement.
Yes, the Ken Salazar that voted in the U.S. Seante for the so-called "Military Commissions Act" -- the bill that undermines habeas corpus and permits torture.
Not to break up the Ed love fest, but Beauprez is not O'Donnell's campaign chair. Considering they reportedly don't like each other much, I doubt Beauprez has given Rick much advice. Ed's lying. Which is par for the course.
Cory Vorhis is a right-wing Republican activist who leaked the information to further his political agenda and his political ambitions. Vorhis is a frequent contributor to right wing causes including State Senate candidate Michael Kopp who defeated Kiki Traylor in the Republican primary.
Danj,
Can you elaborate on this? I cut-and-pasted the press release - which I received via email in addition to finding on S2. But I have been unable to find substantiating data that Beauprez is involved in the O'Donnell campaign.
Anon,
Can you source your allegation. As much as I wish it were true, I went through Kopp's filings starting here and did not see proof.
On October 10, 2006 Vorhis gave extremist Kopp a donation that is listed in Kopp's report on October 11, 2006.
Well holy crap. I stand corrected.
I have to do a little more digging, but this is interesting news.
300 Spartans Gym,
I wish I could give you a link, but as far as I know O'Donnell has no official campaign chairman. After I read the release at Square State I looked through the FEC site, open secrets, and O'Donnell's own web page. Beauprez was listed as a host for a couple of fundraising events, but I can tell you that Both Ways Bob isn't Rick's Chair, nor is he a trusted advisor. BB and Rick don't like each other much. You can take my word as a semi-anonymous voice on the internet that Rick hasn't taken any advice from Bob.
Oh, and I have no idea why Ed thinks Bob is ROD's chair. Since politics is a dirty business, my assumption is that Ed's trying to get some play off Beauprez's latest screwup.
