Beauprez: Bringing Washington DC home
If you ever find yourself falling for Both Ways Bob's small-government rhetoric, read John Aloysius Farrell's blog entry about Libertarian author Stephen Slivinski from today's Denver Post:
The outcome of Republican control has been everything Democrats were known for, and libertarians profess to abhor: wasteful government spending, titanic new bureaucracies, federal intrusion in private matters, elective war and a metastasizing national security state.
Now Beauprez wants to bring the mess he helped create in Washington DC home to Colorado.

Loved the article. It would be great to see a link to it on some national blog like KOS. Also was struck by an article buried on page 23A of the Denver Post - "Bush says Mideast key for U.S. security". In it, Joe Sestak, a former Navy vice admiral running for congress in PA, points out that two days of spending in Iraq would pay for screeening all air cargo on passenger planes. Five days of Iraq costs would fund screening of all cargo coming into the nation's ports. It sure seems like this ought to appear toward the front of the paper where more people might actually read it.
