Post profile of Bill Ritter: Part Two

Even after all this, I still have zero confidence that The Denver Post will have the courage to endorse Ritter this fall. Anyone but me remember the Post's incomprehensible endorsement of George W. Bush in 2004? "Bush has been a terrible president, and his opponent is an American hero, but our publisher wants to endorse Bush and he signs the checks."

Time will tell.

The story on Ritter was largely very flattering. It was disappointing that they failed to mention that the supposedly high rate of plea bargaining on his watch is pretty much in line with the way things are done all over the country. Still, it was much a more positive profile than the previous ones on Beauprez and Holtzman. How could it not be considering the realities of Ritter's life story? And I loved the dancing down the street picture. Even in a still photo, his young staff looked incredibly stiff compared to Bill. How many pols could look that happy and comfortable electric sliding in jeans? Post endorsements are another story!
