The people's candidate gets some netroots chic
Check out the Bill Ritter for governor campaign video:
Please do me a favor. Let me know if you can see the video and what sort of operating system and browser you are using. Thanks.

He was the middle child of twelve? Hm. He may have learned the value of hard work, but he should have also learned definition of "middle". =)
Seriously, this is a nice video, but overly long. But then again I guess this is the extended version, yes?
Mac and Firefox works well.
only issue should be linux and most of us have other computers anyway. I'm about to buy a mac anyway. FWIW, the most people i've ever seen in the sitemeter at soapblox colorado using linux in an entire day has been....2.
Firefox 1.5 and WinXP work.
The only overall cross platform movie format is FLV (Flash Video) by Macromedia, like YouTube uses. You can encode the files using free software, but I don't know about hosting aspect.
Thanks for the replies. My HTML is questionable at best. But I think I am getting the embed language down pretty well. The Ritter campaign made the video available only as a wmv on their site, so I worked with what I had. You can download it there.
Maybe they could upload it to youtube? That'd be awesome.
Google Video allows wmv files to be uploaded. Youtube - ?
The DSCC has two ads up on Google Video, so it should be OK to do:
here
FROM YOUTUBE: "YouTube accepts video files from most digital cameras and camcorders, and cell phones in the .AVI, .MOV, and .MPG file formats. We recommend the MPEG4 (Divx, Xvid) format at 320x240 resolution with MP3 audio. Resizing your video to these specifications before uploading will help your clips look better on YouTube."
I can see it. I use mozilla on Windows. I like it! But that music is driving me bonkers. Hate the music.
Saw it fine. I guess that makes up for my having missed it on the big screen up in Greeley last Saturday. I'm on Internet Exploder 6.0 on Win XP, pretty standard stuff I guess. On another note, I wonder if you would consider posting links to a couple of other State Board of Ed. candidates: We have Evie Hudak, who's running for re-election in my District (2), and most importantly, Tom Griggs, who running in CD 4 for the seat now held by ultra-con and former Repub Senate Candidate Bob Schafer. Both of their campaign sites are linked to the CDP website, and I think are actually on the front page today.
Thanks for the comments. Leftfielder06, I will post a link to your B of E candidates next time I update my links.
Saw the video fine. Liked the passing landscape approach, but the message?
FYI, I use IE 6 with WinXP.
Back to the "message": Aside from the passing landscape (I love to drive, as well), didn't get much out of it....other than he is soft-spoken, has a family, claims to be "hard working," and apparently likes Colorado.
Oh, I also think that he would like to live in the governer's mansion.
Negatives: He is a Democrat.
Now don't get me wrong. I'm not a big fan of the GOP anymore. Too bad we don't have any viable independents these days. But I just can't get past what the Democratic party has become in recent years... well, by "recent," I guess I mean since JFK.
