A Memorial Day Massacre thought

This session, 34 bills met their maker in the office of Governor Bill Owens. Months of work and compromise, wounded by Owens' allegiance to party politics. Ask yourself, right about now, how much do you wish we had Bill Ritter in the governor's mansion?

I hope that those Dems who still refuse to support Ritter because of his pro-life views, in spite of his clear statements that he would be FOR returning funding to Planned Parenthood, making contraception including EC easily available, while he is AGAINST criminalizing women and their doctors will think better of their decision. What good is it to hold on to both houses of the General Assembly if we are just going to have another Governor who will veto all of our best legislation? Ritter would have signed every one of the bills Owens vetoed in the Memorial Day Massacre. We can elect a Dem Governor to pass all the great legislation that has been vetoed and to be in place for the 2008 elections, hopefully along with our own Ken Gordon as Secretary of State. Or some of us can make a statement and all of us can lose. Period.
