Salazar: Tancredo should "get real."
Some folks think I'm too hard on Democratic Senator Ken Salazar. So I wanted to make sure to give Ken some respect for a blast he let fly at Mad Tom Tancredo. From the Montrose Daily Press:
"The bill that we had put together was comprehensive in nature," Salazar said. "It was a bipartisan bill supported by Republicans and Democrats, endorsed by the president... We need to deal with the economic reality in a realistic fashion. For people like (Rep.) Tom Tancredo who say that there is only one fix and that is to put a wall at every one of our borders, I say get real."

I wonder what the contractor who remodeled Tancredo's basement with a crew of illegals is doing these days. Tancredo's excuse then was that it wasn't his fault: He just hired the contractor. It wasn't his concern who the contractor hired. I guess, even if you are rabidly anti-immigrant (Tancredo makes no bones about the fact that it isn't just illegal immigration he opposes) you don't want to look a gift horse in the mouth when you get a nice low bid just because no one on the crew speaks English. Don't ask, don't tell was Tancredo's solution at the time. He got his cheap remodel. Now it's time for a high profile campaign to build a zillion dollar wall with our money.
