Winter is netroots' choice for progressive patriot

From Senator Russ Feingold's Progressive Patriots Fund:

"I'm proud to congratulate [Democratic CD6 candidate] Bill Winter as being the netroots' choice for our second Pick a Progressive Patriot event. Bill received thousands of votes from members of the Progressive Patriots Fund community, and we'll be sending him a contribution of $5,000 today to help his efforts."

No, five grand won't be enough to unseat Mad Tom. But it's inspiring to see the rush of support Winter has received from the netroots. And it's exciting to think that this could be the year we turn CD6 blue.

If the wingnuts didn't hear the footsteps before, they do now.

CD7 is getting most of the nation-wide attention (and funding) but it is great to see so many people committed to delivering CD6 as well. Congratulations, Bill, and best of luck. You have all of blue America behind you.

I met Mike Honda, Vice Chair of DNC according to his card, at the Kick off party for Joe Rice (HD38 candidate). When I spoke to him about taking the message back to DNC that Winter could win in CD 6 with enough money to really make some noise, he said he was actually here representing the DCCC, not DNC. At any rate, he gave me his card with his e-mail address(which IS at DNC) so whoEVER he is representing, it wouldn't hurt to e-mail him at hondam@dnc.org to urge him to push for support for Bill Winter from DCCC AND DNC. It also would be really good if Winter could show a lot of financial support by March 31, so if you want to beat Tancredo send the Winter campaign a check! Go to winterforcongress.com.

the thing that this win shows is that this race is now recognized as one with national repercussions and is a national priority. there's also no way Winter would've won with just Coloradoans voting.
