Who captures your imagination?
I'm not going to blog today. Partially because I'm a bit exhausted. And partially because I have to focus on some other stuff. So I wanted to throw out a question that I've been mulling over recently.
There's a divide between the candidates we like and the candidates we actually vote for. I want to know who out there gets you excited about politics. I don't care if your choice is actually a viable candidate. I don't care if you name a Republican or Democrat. And I don't care if you name a state-level politician, a congressional candidate, or a potential '08 Presidential nominee.
I just want to know, what candidate captures your imagination?

I'll lead this off by mentioning CD6 candidate Bill Winter, who I just voted for at progressivepatriotsfund.com.
Rep Morgan Carroll
Herb Rubenstein and Russ Feingold for always making a stand for what is right, even if fellow dems are not backing them up.
I agree with Bill Winter. Also the Governor of Montana.. I'm not sure I've got the right spelling but close to Gov. Schweitzer... for 2008 Democratic Presidential candidate.
I'll second Morgan Carroll and add Andrew Romanoff and Governor of Montana Brian Schweitzer.
Bill Winter
Angie Paccione
Warren Beatty

Anon, I'm sorry, but your post didn't seem to have anything to do with this thread. If you'd like to write back in with a post about your choice for "Inspirational candidate" - I assume that would be Herb - that would be great.
Nationally...
*Bill Clinton (out of the game, but still has it)
*Barack Obama (he had me at his '04 convention speech)
Locally...
*Andy Romanoff
*Peggy Lamm
current: Angie Paccione
Bill Winter
past: Mike Miles (I'm still not over this one, he is easily the best person I've ever slogged through the political muck for).

Anon,
Once again, I have several threads up about Herb, Peggy and Ed. But this one is about inspirational candidates. If you want to write a positive comment about how inspirational you think herb is, please do. But please stop trying hijack this thread.
I have been a politically aware liberal for over 30 years, and yet a registered Democrat for just over two years (I was independent before). The one politician who inspired me to join the party so I could start my support of him by participating in the caucus process, the one person who made me want to do politics at all is Mike Miles.
I am inspired by
*John Edwards
*Howard Dean
*Barbara Boxer
*Jim Wallis
*Jared Diamond
*Martin Luther King
Progressive bloggers, journalists, radio hosts and writers who search for and tell the truth.
*environmentalists, union organizers, and teachers who carry on the fight for our world and the lives yet to be
