Stengel resigns post

HD38 Republican Joe Stengel just resigned his post as House Minority Leader. Read about it in the Rocky.

UPDATE: I have written quite a few posts on this story over the past month, all of which lead you to other sites around the Internet. Here's where FOX31 originally messed with Stengel. And here's where the Rocky followed up. And here's where the Democrats requested Stengel's records. And here's me selling the story just for kicks. And here's Stengel working from Hawaii. And here's Stengel's constituents calling for an ethics investigation. And here's Stengel stepping down. Which is this post, so you probably shouldn't really click the link.

And here's my happy face. Can't you see it?

Progress Now Action is still asking for a full investigation. People should consider dropping by the March 11 campaign kickoff party for Lt. Col. Joe Rice, who is the only Democrat in the race for the seat Stengel will vacate in November.

"Embattled Rep. Joe Stengel stepped down as House Minority Leader this morning. Stengel, a Littleton Republic, has come under intense fire since the News disclosed that he billed the state $99 a day for working while he was vacationing in Hawaii. "

A Littleton Republic?
My God! The real story is that he has declared himself his own nation!

Sounds like Littleton Republicans take after their leaders in Washington. First they elect Dyer as their Senator who was found guilty of bilking a widow out of her house and savings for which his wages were garnished. Then they elect Rep. Stengle who in effect stole from the taxpayers to pad his personal income. The culture of corruption runs deep. Question is; do they care, do they read, are they literate at all?

Wow, he really resigned. This my be the first honorable thing Stengel has ever done. If only Bush would follow his lead.
