Tancredo vs. the church

Mad Tom Tancredo blasted "the U.S. Catholic Church, the Episcopal Church, Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, United Methodist Church, the Presbyterian Church (USA) and Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society for lobbying against a border-enforcement bill that passed the U.S. House of Representatives last year."

You know, if Tancredo isn't careful, even the religious right will vote for Democratic CD6 candidate Bill Winter.

I don't know about that. The religious right hates mainstream Christianity almost as much as Tancredo does.

At least mainstream Christianity is getting involved. Finally.

FYI if you're interested, the Episcopal church has a whole platform that includes a pro-choice stance. I believe the actual language is something like "Whether or not to have an abortion is a difficult decision that should remain between a woman, her doctor, and her God."

On Tancredo's website, he accuses the churches of misrepresenting the effects of his bill, when it is he who misrepresents the stance of the churches.

I blogged on it.
