Stengel works, hulas simultaneously

The Rocky Mountain News reports that Republican minority leader Joe Stengel "billed taxpayers last year for working while he was on a five-day vacation in Hawaii." Is this possible? Maybe. I know that I worked while I was on vacation in Costa Rica.

But, as I have written before, I find it extremely unlikely that Stengel worked "240 days out of 247 when the legislature was out of session" in addition to working all the in session days.

Democrats asked for Stengel's records on February 16. By law, he had to turn them over within 72 hours. Anybody know what day it is?

The big news from the Capital this week was the back stab given to organized labor by the Democrats and super lobbyist Ted Trimpa. Trimpa threatened to withhold donations from his pal Tim Gill if the Democrats did not kill the antoWal Mart bill. Trimpa lobbies for Wal Mart. Gill knew nothing of Trimpa's threats. Nor did Trimpa's good friend Steve Adams who laid a lof of prestige on the line to get the bill passed. Judy Solano caved into the pressure from Trimpa and other lobbyists including Mike Feeley. No telling how this will play out. But the great alliance between labor and the Gay community may be shattered due to the bad faith tactics of Trimpa
