This is why moderation blows

Yes on C. But no on D. Let me explain.

Most people don't care about politics. Politicians are all a bunch of bums, both sides are petty, and so on. So when faced with confusing issues like C and D, most people seek moderation.

Sounds fair. But the problem is that C and D were already moderate issues. State Dems and the Republican guv compromised a lot to get the referendums written. So when voters tried to compromise by voting one referendum in and the other one down, they accidentally ended up compromising not between the right and the left, but between moderation and extremism.

Congrats, Colorado. You just shifted the national debate even further to the right.

If you want things to be different you must change something. That something may need to be your actions. When you say that politicians are ALL a bunch of bums then you lump everyone into the same group. That may be true but if you want better polititians then you must require that we elect better people. We can elect better people if we hold them accountable. But then that would mean that we'd have to turn off the TV and participate rather than rant.
