Scenes from a protest, part 1
Folks downtown are buzzing around, preparing for Marilyn Musgrave's fundraiser with the president. I stopped by the Progress Now Action truck, which was parked outside the Brown Palace. They told me the billboards have been getting a lot of reaction from both sides of the political fence. A billboard that read "Stop gay marriage now, so Osama doesn't get away" was facing 18th headed into town. On the other side was the slogan seen here.

Just turned on CNN Live and they were showing footage of the Denver anti-war protesters, who had surrounded the press bus traveling with Bush. It got a pretty long play with a call-in from a correspondent on the bus saying that the protesters were very angry, noisy, banging on the bus, etc., but the incident was resolved after about five minutes to clear a way for the bus to proceed. She said it was a little scary and didn't know if the protesters knew they were the press. I'm betting they did and were trying to get air time. Even though there were said to be only about 150 people, by targeting the press bus they got national coverage. Denver's little protest is on the map.
