Hick, Bob get new life

Draft Hick emailed me a press release pointing out that jumping out of airplanes, leading the way on referendum C, and representing Colorado at a Dallas business development conference sure as heck seem like the actions of some one who is running for governor. And being named one of the nation's top 8 leaders by Governing magazine can't hurt.

Meanwhile, Both Ways Bob's camp finally got some good news. The Rocky reports that, "The House of Representatives has given final approval to Rep. Bob Beauprez's measure, threatening to cut foreign aid to Mexico or other countries that refuse to extradite suspected cop killers with no strings attached."

It's sort of a no-brainer bill. But Both Ways will take his victories where he can find him these days. Especially with conservative blogs tending towards Holtzman. For instance, bestdestiny.blogspot.com reads, "In fairness, I am (was) inclined toward Bob Beauprez in this race, more out of a loyalty to a man I've worked for on two campaigns than anything else. But I am now strongly reconsidering..."

And how seriously should we take this email I just received:

"Right now, Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper is reconsidering his earlier statements regarding a run for the governorship in Colorado. You can help him make up his mind. Take these three quick and easy ACTIONSteps:
1. Right now, write a letter to the editor of your local newspaper. Tell the editor that you think John Hickenlooper is the right man for the job. Tell the editor that his moderate political views are in line with those of most Coloradoans. Tell the editor that Democrats, Republicans and Independents alike will come together behind the mayor to move Colorado forward. Most newspapers in Colorado have webpages. A quick Google search will lead you to the appropriate webpage and the editor's e-mail address. It doesn't have to be long or complicated. Be sure to include your mailing address and phone number for verification.
2. Right now, forward this Draft Hick e-mail to five of your friends. In your forward, tell your friends that you think John Hickenlooper is right for Colorado and that they need to encourage him to run.
3. Monday, call the mayor's office. (720) 865-9000. Leave a message and say that you think the mayor should run for governor. It doesn't have to be long or fancy; just tell the person answering the phone that Colorado needs the mayor's leadership and that he should run for governor. (720) 865-9000.
Together, we can move opinion on this decision, but we need your help to do it. Act now!
Thanks,
